Last February 23, 2012, Cebuana Lhuillier lauched its second search for the Happiest Pinoy. The search aims to give recognition to the country’s most optimistic and passionate Filipinos who overcame difficulties and exhibited resilience amid life’s challenges, without losing their cheerful attitude. The contest is open to any Filipino with a constantly cheerful face, an optimistic outlook, proven ability to rise above life’s challenges and has a positive impact on the lives of others.
The search for Happiest Pinoy had started in 2009. Winston Maxino won the Happiest Pinoy 2009 for being an optimistic person despite being diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis.
Jonathan Batangan, general manager of Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions, said that they hope to have a winner this year, who is much closer to the public.
Nominations are accepted until June 30, 2012. The winner and nine runners up will be announced at a gala dinner in July. The winner will receive P250,000 cash while the runners-up will receive P25,000.
