LAWFUL GROUNDS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA

PURPOSES OF COLLECTING PERSONAL DATA:

PJLI collects personal information directly from data subjects, through authorized representatives, from lawful third-party sources, or as otherwise required by law and regulation. This information is obtained when you manually or electronically submit inquiries, requests, and transactions and services such as:

  1. Pawning: We accept a variety of pawn collateral, such as gold jewelry, diamonds, cellphones, watches.
  2. Jewelry sales
  3. Domestic and International remittance
  4. Bills payment/ collection payment services
  5. Corporate payout
  6. Load wallet/ e-load
  7. Microloans
  8. Insurance application

To process general inquiries or concerns about the products and services we offer:

  • Name, Middle Initial, Last name
  • Contact information (mobile number and email address)

To process your transactions covered by RA 9160, Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001, as amended:

  • Name
  • Present address
  • Date and place of birth
  • Nature of work, name of employer or nature of self-employment/business
  • Contact details
  • Specimen signature
  • Source of funds
  • Permanent address
  • Nationality
  • Identification Cards
  • Name, present address, date and place of birth, nature of work and source of funds of beneficial owner or beneficiary, whenever applicable
  • When the customer or authorized representative is a foreign national, passport or Alien Certificate of Registration issued by the Bureau of Immigration

PJLI collects only personal data that is necessary, relevant, and not excessive for the stated purposes.

METHODS AND TIMING OF COLLECTION

Personal data is collected through:

  • In-person transactions and submitted forms 
  • Government-issued identification documents 
  • Online and mobile platforms 
  • Customer registration systems 
  • Authorized representatives or third-party sources

Personal data is collected during account opening, transactions, service applications, updates, and ongoing customer engagement.

Additional information may be collected, when necessary, due to regulatory updates, system enhancements, security requirements, or repeated transactions, with appropriate notice provided where required.

Personal data is stored and processed in secure systems and data centers, which may be physical or cloud-based, operated by PJLI or by duly engaged third-party service providers acting as Personal Information Processors (PIPs).

IDs Accepted

As required by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), clients who engage in a financial transaction with covered institutions for the first time shall be required to present the original and submit a clear copy of at least ONE (1) valid photo-bearing identification document issued by an official authority. For our clients’ convenience, Cebuana no longer requires submission of the photocopied ID. IDs are captured using a webcam in all branches. Clients are also required to submit an updated photo and other relevant information whenever the need for it arises.
