The PJ Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (PJLFI) in partnership with Cebuana Lhuillier Pawnshop (CLP) and United Laboratories, Inc. (UNILAB) conducted the first round of Ang Galing Mo Bata (AGMB) Medical Mission in Navotas, Caloocan, Pasig, Pasay, Batangas, Cavite, Bulacan and Bataan for the whole month of February, serving at least 327 families.
Cebuana Lhuillier employees, teachers, and baranggay health workers assisted in the medical mission, which offered free medical consultations, blood pressure check-up, and medicines and vitamins to the students of chosen Day Care Centers and their immediate family members. All the doctors, nutritional supplements and medicines were given by UNILAB.
The PJLFI provides series of medical missions annually as part of the AGMB Nationwide Day Care Center Feeding Program and is intended for communities that have limited or no access to proper health care services. The feeding program, which started in 2005, is one of the poverty reduction measures administered by PJLFI.
The second leg of the series of medical mission will be in CLP Regions 2A, 4A, 4B and 5.
