Tarlac City, Tarlac – To promote the corporate value of teamwork even to external partners, Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI) and the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems held a basketball clinic for 20 Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners of San Manuel High School in Tarlac City on March 13.
Cebuana Lhuillier Gems Assistant Coach Marvin Carreon, along with players RL Cartel, Jonathan Banal, and Roberto Hainga, led the clinic to hone the learners’ basketball skills while promoting teamwork and camaraderie.
“Teamwork is working towards a common goal, and it is important in basketball as it is in life,” said Coach Marvin. The Gems also emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, respect, right attitude, and teamwork.
“I felt happy and inspired because that was the first basketball clinic I had. I’ll definitely treasure all the lessons. I am very lucky to be mentored by them even if I’m not in formal school,” shared learner Rodel Lacsa.
Sports development is a key component of the DepEd–Cebuana Lhuillier ALS Community Learning Centers (CLCs) nationwide. “Through the Sports Development Program, Cebuana Lhuillier hopes that all the CLCs nationwide will be venues to develop sports champions,” said Executive Trustee Atty. Cesar Vidal.
