Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance extends ₱13-M in microinsurance to fire-prone communities
Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Brokers (CLIB), the insurance arm of Cebuana Lhuillier, strengthened fire preparedness efforts across the country by extending around ₱13 million in microinsurance coverage to families living in fire-prone communities nationwide in observance of Fire Prevention Month.
The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), combined fire safety education with accessible financial protection, underscoring the importance of going beyond awareness and providing families with meaningful support that can help them recover from unexpected disasters.
“Protecting our kababayans means ensuring they have both the knowledge and the financial support to face unexpected risks,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, president and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier. “Through efforts like this, we continue to expand access to protection that helps communities stay resilient in the face of life’s uncertainties.”
Families in vulnerable communities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—including Metro Manila, Negros Occidental, and Misamis Oriental—received microinsurance coverage alongside fire safety sessions led by the BFP. The training covered prevention, emergency response, and risk reduction, while participating households also received Ligtas Kits containing emergency essentials to help reinforce readiness at home.
At the center of the program is ProtectMax Insurance, CLIB’s microinsurance offering designed to make practical and affordable protection more accessible to Filipino families. By simplifying access to coverage, ProtectMax gives households in high-risk communities an added layer of financial security against fire and other covered incidents, helping strengthen confidence and peace of mind.
“Preparedness becomes more meaningful when families know they are protected financially,” said Atty. Isagani Acosta, general manager of CLIB. “Through ProtectMax Insurance, we are able to bring relevant and accessible protection closer to communities that need it most, helping ensure families are better prepared and better equipped to recover when emergencies occur.”
The initiative also highlights the value of strong public-private collaboration in improving fire preparedness nationwide. Through its partnership with the BFP, CLIB shows how government and private sector efforts can work hand in hand to help communities better manage everyday risks.
With programs like this, CLIB continues to advance inclusive and innovative microinsurance solutions that help Filipino families stay protected, secure, and resilient.
