Cebuana Lhuillier earned multiple accolades from two prestigious award-giving bodies for several of its projects and achievements in business. The microfinancial company was recognized in 17 categories at 2016 The International Business Awards (also known as the IBA or The Stevie Awards) and was honored thrice at the 2016 Golden Bridge Awards.
Cebuana Lhuillier, a full-service microfinancial institution, earned praise for the company’s growth and innovations, as well as for the leadership of its President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier who was given Silver recognition for Executive of the Year – Diversified Services and for Executive of the Year – Insurance, and Bronze for Executive of the Year – Financial Services and for Maverick of the Year.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized by two of the most respected award-giving entities in the world and to be ranked among such notable companies. These recognitions give us the affirmation that we are doing and inspiration to do even more, even better so we can empower more Filipinos,” said Lhuillier.
Having accomplished several business milestones recently, Cebuana Lhuillier won Gold for Company of the Year – Conglomerates, and Silver for Company of the Year – Diversified Services, Company of the Year – Financial, and Company of the Year – Insurance. Cebuana Lhuillier’s corporate social responsibility campaigns were also individually given honors; The Search for the Happiest Pinoy won Silver under Communications or PR Campaign/Reputation/Brand Management and Bronze under Communications or PR Campaign/Program of the Year – Public Service, while the its alternative education and sports advocacies were each given Bronze awards for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year. The country’s communication channels were not left unnoticed as the Cebuana Lhuillier Facebook page was given the Bronze award under the Best Facebook Fan page or Group, and an internal video series called The JHL Show also won Bronze for Video Internal/Employee Communications.
This edition of the IBA received more than 3,800 nominations from 60 countries such as USA, Japan, Qatar, Spain, and Australia. Some of the other winning companies include AT&T, DHL Express, LG Electronics and Unilever.
Meanwhile, at the Golden Bridge Awards, having added outlets within and outside the Philippines and having further diversified its portfolio of products and services, Cebuana Lhuillier was given the Gold award for Business Expansion of the Year. Its Search for the Happiest Pinoy was also awarded with a Bronze recognition for CSR Program of the Year, while Mr. Lhuillier, having led the company to new heights, was honored with the Gold award for CEO of the Year.
Cebuana Lhuillier is the only Philippine-based company that was included in this year’s Golden Bridge Awards roster of winners. Other honorees include Thomson Reuters, American Express, Cisco Systems, Inc. and other companies based in USA, Canada, India, UAE, and Switzerland, among others.
