I was fortunate to be invited for the Happiness Boot Camp

I believe I’m a jolly person and learned to appreciate even simple things in life.

At an early age I learned to be independent. I was 13 years old when my parents
decided to separate. I told myself the sufferings are temporary and life will be better.

When I got my first salary I bought material things that made me comfortable,
but true happiness only came when I learned to appreciate life itself.

The Happiest Pinoy Boot Camp

Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions, Inc. (CLIS) began the nationwide
search for the Happiest Pinoy 2012, recognizing Filipinos who remain
optimistic and resilient amid life’s challenges.

We arrived at Nurture Spa, Tagaytay City, the venue of the 2012 Happiness Boot Camp.

A warm welcome and hot tea greeted us upon arrival. I shared a room with fellow blogger Ruth,
and we had a wonderful overnight stay.

In the evening, we met Happiest Pinoy 2010 winner Winston Maxino,
whose inspiring story and humor left a lasting impression.

Winston was chosen from 218 nominees. Despite multiple health challenges,
his optimism and faith never wavered.

Truly, he is deserving of the title The Happiest Pinoy.

The Happiest Pinoy 2012 Criteria:

1. Constant cheerfulness and optimism
2. Ability to rise above challenges
3. Positive impact on others

The boot camp taught me that happiness is meant to be shared.
We already have everything we need to be happy.

What I Learned:

1. The present moment is a gift
2. Happiness is a mindset
3. Happiness is fewer desires
4. Choose positive thoughts
5. Value silence
