Uniforms, t-shirts, laptops, and projectors with screens were provided for at least
135 out-of-school youth learners by Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI) during the
DepEd-Cebuana Lhuillier Alternative Learning System (ALS) Community Learning Center (CLC)
launch in Benguet last August 4 at Lubuagan Central School, Kalinga Province.
Students, Department of Education (DepEd) representatives, ALS teachers in 13 districts
of Kalinga, and local government units headed by Mayor Johnny Dickpus of Lubuagan, Kalinga
Province were there in full force to support the program. ALS Education Program Supervisor
Romulo Galnawan thanked CLFI for “helping literacy workers in fighting for the least, last,
and lost,” while the students expressed their gratitude with a song in their local dialect
entitled “So be it.”
Meanwhile, the launching of La Trinidad ALS Community Learning Center in Puguis Elementary
School, Benguet last July became an avenue for Benguet Division to send their heartfelt
gratitude.
