Four students from Mapua bagged the top prize at the 1st Alagang Cebuana Plus (ACP) Go Viral Video Awards held on January 23 at the San Marino Consulate Office.
Lawrence Canto, Nathaniel Pelareja, Nikko Mercado, and Ken Vallespin from Mapua Institute of Technology won first place for their entry “Langit Lupa” in the ACP Go Viral Video Competition which aimed to promote microinsurance among the youth. They went home with Php15,000 in cash, medals, and three days and two nights accommodation for five at Le Soleil de Boracay.
Meanwhile, Marvin Gabas, Clariza Samaco, and Jonjon Adviento from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines placed second. Another group from Mapua composed of Juan Pacheco and Kimm Garcia won third place.
“There’s nothing like telling a story”, said P.J. Lhuillier Group of Companies (PJLGC) President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier, commending the ingenuity and humor of the student ads. Lhuillier also mentioned the importance of collaborating with the academe to create awareness about microinsurance among the youth.
