Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier and the main proponent behind the DepEd-Cebuana Lhuillier Alternative Learning System addressed some 600 graduates at the University of Makati during the institution’s 43rd Commencement Ceremonies. Recognizing the power of millennials in today’s workforce, Lhuillier discussed the generation’s contribution to society and stated that there is no single path to success. “What guarantees your success is if you are willing to go beyond what is required of you to reach your goals; and most importantly, if you love your job. Although skills and talent go hand in hand with a positive attitude towards work, hard work beats talent when talent isn’t working hard,” he said. Lhuillier, who has been supporting UMAK’s annual IT Olympics, also stressed the importance of social media and how companies, including his own, are harnessing it to promote engagement.
