Depicting a heartwarming story of an OFW family, Cebuana Lhuillier’s short film first aired on Nov. 27as part of the GMA Christmas Short Film Festival.
Starring actor Benjamin Alves, the one and a half minute short film features how Cebuana Lhuillier has become his family’s partner and aid as they traversed the ups and downs of life.
Set in a Cebuana Lhuillier branch, the story started with Alvez reminiscing how his relationship with the pawnshop began. In his family’s long relationship with Cebuana Lhuillier, they were able to use not just pawning but the other different products and services such as Pera Padala, Cebuana Lhuillier Microinsurance, and Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation’s scholarship program.
Now on its eighth year, GMA Christmas Short Film Festival gifts viewers with touching and heartwarming stories that capture the essence of the holiday season. It aims to share insightful stories of Filipinos while celebrating the different values of what makes Christmas here truly Filipino.
Aired on both GMA and GMA News TV, Cebuana Lhuillier’s short film can be viewed from November 27 to December 26 at various times. The film fest supports the GMA Foundation Inc.’s Operation Bayanihan for the benefit of the super typhoon Yolanda victims.
