The world is a witness to what was left in the Visayas after super typhoon Yolanda struck. Aid and relief efforts are pouring in from all over the world and Cebuana Lhuillier and its employees are doing their part to help the cause.
Utilizing its network of branches all over the country, Cebuana Lhuillier is still accepting cash donations on behalf of partner institutions. As of Nov. 18, a total of PHP 11.84 million cash donations have been received at Cebuana Lhuillier branches all over the Philippines. The donations were received without charge on behalf of the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Philippine Red Cross, TV 5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Caritas Manila, and World Vision.
Some Cebuana Lhuillier branches, even in the hardest hit areas, are open to serve typhoon victims directly receiving money from family or friends.
Although some branches still have limited remittance transactions due to telecommunication difficulties, Cebuana Lhuillier is continuously working to restore full range of services in the shortest possible time. Solutions are also being quickly put in place to make branch services convenient and fast for the victims of the typhoon.
This has not gone unnoticed. Blogger MJ De Leon commended Cebuana Lhuillier in an Instagram post for “agreeing to pay employees twice the daily wage and financing a generator set to process remittances for the victims even if the branch itself was damaged by the typhoon.”
