The Department of Education (DepEd) – Tarlac City Schools Division recognized Cebuana Lhuillier, through the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI), for its contribution to the Alternative Learning System (ALS) during the 2014 Education Week Celebration held at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Tarlac City on December 6.
CLFI was represented by its ALS coordinators led by Area 211 Manager-OIC Mercedes Navalta, and Area Technical Supervisors Marissa Custodio and OIC Diosdado Romero. They received the Certificate of Recognition from Engr. Edgard C. Domingo, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) and William Bacani, Assistant SDS.
Last year, CLFI inaugurated the DepEd-Cebuana Lhuillier ALS Community Learning Center in San Manuel High School in Tarlac City and transferred three computer units, a projector, and 16 headsets for the learners' use. It also funded the reviewer reproduction cost for the center.
